EURC Now Available on Base

EURC is now live on Base mainnet and accessible to developers and users. Circle Mint and its APIs now support minting and redeeming EURC on Base for financial institutions. EURC on Base

EURC is a euro-backed stablecoin issued by Circle that brings the trust and compliance needed for businesses and developers to facilitate global commerce on Base. EURC, along with USDC, are the first stablecoins from a major global issuer to achieve compliance with the new Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) regulation in the EU.

USDC on Base

Circle launched USDC on Base last year and is already the largest stablecoin on Base with nearly $3 billion in circulation and 97% stablecoin market share.1 As of July 2024, Base ranks fifth in stablecoin market capitalization among all blockchains.

Earlier this year, Coinbase announced it would begin storing more corporate and customer USDC balances on Base. There are over 250 apps built on Base today, supporting use cases across on-chain finance, social, gaming, art, infrastructure, and more.

Many leading apps on Base already support USDC, including: Aave, Aerodrome, Blackbird, Moonwell, Morpho and Uniswap App.2
