FAQ

Credits are monetary discounts of a predetermined value that can be applied to a Circle developer's Web3 Services billing, such as Smart Contract Platform API calls, Programmable Wallets monthly fees, and Gas Station network and platform fees.

Any of Circle’s Web3 Services offerings, including:

  • Programmable Wallets
  • Smart Contract Platform
  • Gas Station

There are two main ways for developers to get Circle credits:

  1. Developers can apply for credits on this page. Once we receive your application, we will review it and contact you if we have any questions. We will email you once we have a decision, which might take up to two weeks.
  2. Additionally, credits may be administered by Circle team members at events such as hackathons and workshops, via social media or by direct outreach depending on observed product activity.

After upgrading to mainnet, developers can redeem a credit code* and view the remaining credits by navigating to ADMIN SETTINGS > Payment Options. Credits are automatically used to pay new Web3 Services bills; if there is an insufficient balance, the remaining balance will be charged to the credit card on the account.

* Please note that credits can only be redeemed when you upgrade to mainnet. If you receive a credit code before upgrading, you are responsible for storing and redeeming it once you’ve upgraded.

No, a developer must accept Circle’s terms and conditions which specify that credits are not to be resold, licensed, or exchanged.

Developers may redeem one credit code at a time and must consume the current credit balance before redeeming additional credits.

Yes, credits expire if you do not redeem your code within six months of issuance.
